13 September 2011: The Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) Program of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) has opened a call for proposals on a discussion paper analyzing the role of rural institutions in enabling adaptation to climate change in the agricultural sector.
The paper should aim to build understanding of: how rural institutions respond to climate-related stress; how rural institutions shape household decision-making processes; how institutional arrangements can enhance the adaptive capacity of households; the role of rural institutions in facilitating external support for adaptation; and how rural institutions interface with national policy. The paper should identify: what is working, where, how and why; and arrangements that assist households in reducing their vulnerability to climate change. The discussion paper will be a maximum of 25 pages and will be completed by February 2011. The deadline for submitting proposals is 30 September 2011. [CCAFS Call for Proposals]
