CBD Seeks Views on Interaction with IPBES

On the recommendation of the 16th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited views on the process regarding how requests from the Convention would be conveyed to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), to be submitted before 30 June 2012.

CBD11 May 2012: Following recommendations by the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) at its 16th meeting, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited views on the process of conveying requests from the Convention to the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).

The document on ways and means to improve SBSTTA effectiveness, addressed at SBSTTA 16, discusses options for engagement with IPBES and lists some considerations that may be taken into account in developing an effective interaction with IPBES.
