CBD Secretariat Publishes Quarterly Report of the Convention

The report contains a summary of key activities undertaken in relation to the implementation of decisions of the Conference of the Parties (COP), covering the period 1 January to 31 March 2011.

It includes updates on progress toward implementation of the decisions of the fifth meeting of the COP serving as the Meeting of the Parties (COP/MOP 5) to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.

5 May 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) published the 52nd issue of the Quarterly Report of the Convention, covering the period from 1 January-31 March 2011.

The issue contains a summary of key activities undertaken in relation to the implementation of decisions of the Conference of the Parties (COP) during this period.

It includes, among others: references to meetings organized by the CBD Secretariat; progress with regard to activities requested by the COP on the agenda items of its 10th meeting, including scientific, technical and technological matters, social, economic and legal matters, outreach and major groups, and implementation and technical support; and progress with regard to implementation of the decisions of the fifth meeting of the COP serving as the Meeting of the Parties (COP/MOP 5) to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
