March 2010: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has circulated a report on the global celebrations of the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB) that took place in the month of February, including events that underscored the linkages between biodiversity and climate change.

The report includes stories on: the 2010 World Wetlands Day, which was celebrated on 2 February around the theme “Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change,” in recognition of the impact climate change has on biodiversity and wetlands; and Morocco’s IYB celebrations, which were launched during the 5th “Days of Water Birds and Wetlands,” held from 23-25 February 2010, under the theme “What future do we face in the context of climate change?” [The Report] [Climate Change Policy & Practice Story on the World Wetlands Day Celebrations]
