This Congress will focus on making the fullest possible use of research in solving water resource problems. Major themes are: water planning under uncertainty (climatic variability and changes); valuing water; impact of new technologies in water management; relevance and sustainability of intensive groundwater developments; water infrastructure development; influence of socio-economic, cultural and religious factors in water resources policies; and funding and participation in water management.
