This symposium is being organized by the Research and Transfer Centre “Applications of Life Sciences” of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and London Metropolitan University, UK, under the auspices of the RCE Hamburg and Region. Organized as a parallel event to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), the symposium aims to: provide universities with the opportunity to display initiatives relating to education for sustainable development at university level; foster sharing of information, ideas and experiences; discuss methodological approaches and projects that aim to integrate sustainable development into the curriculum of universities; and provide a platform for participants to explore possibilities for cooperation.
