This Workshop will discuss a strategy and action plan for strengthening the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage in Samoa by making use of different policy instruments and practical tools made available through UNESCO’s programme in this field. The Workshop will also examine the opportunity presented by the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Participants including parliamentarians, traditional chiefs and representative of cultural institutions and women’s association are expected to attend this Workshop.
