On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, UNESCO-IHE is organizing this symposium to formulate recommendations with respect to 3 themes related to ‘Enhancing Local Knowledge and Capacity’: knowledge for development, knowledge generation and innovation, and knowledge sharing. The discussions will be framed by 5 leading water-related themes: water security, environmental integrity, urbanization, water management and governance, and information and communication technologies.
