The UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA, or UNECA) and partners will organize this meeting in preparation for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). The conference will be held from 20-25 October 2011, with the experts' segment to take place from 20-22 October, and the ministerial segment to be held on 24-25 October. The meeting will be preceded by a one-day training, on 19 October 2011, offered by the UNCSD Secretariat, ECA, and Stakeholder Forum, for regional Major Groups and other partners, to build capacity to engage with the Rio+20 process.
