Third International Conference Climate Services (ICCS 3)

The Third International Conference on Climate Services (ICCS 3) will explore opportunities and constraints regarding the transition to sustained climate services, particularly related to drought monitoring, coastal management and climate-related health interventions. The conference will provide an opportunity for updates on a variety of projects, foster discussions regarding the transition from pilot activities to sustained services, and contribute to the development of the Climate Services Partnership (CSP) work plan. The CSP, which was formed at ICCS 1 in 2011, is a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration aimed at promoting resilience and advancing climate service capabilities worldwide. It is an informal, interdisciplinary network of climate information users, providers, donors and researchers who share an interest in climate services and are actively involved in the climate services community. The CSP aims to: improve the provision and development of climate services worldwide, and climate-smart decision making; and identify, promote and foster the establishment of effective policy and practice. Its activities will inform and support the evolution and implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS).
