The Sixth Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) of the FAO International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) will address, among other issues, the implementation of the goals outlined in the CPM mid-term business plan 2007-2011, including: a robust international standard setting and implementation programme; appropriate information exchange systems; effective dispute settlement systems; improved phytosanitary capacity of members; and review of the status of plant protection in the world. The CPM acts as the IPPC’s governing body and meets each year in March or April to promote cooperation to help implement the objectives of the IPPC.
