This event will be held on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). It will support dialogue among islands countries and countries with islands on significant initiatives on marine and coastal conservation: the Caribbean Challenge Initiative, the Coral Triangle Initiative, the Micronesia Challenge, and the emerging Western Indian Ocean Coastal Challenge. The event will promote exchanges of lessons learned, know-how and technologies, and new initiatives among different island fraternities that show the contribution of marine and coastal conservation to sustainable development, and to look at opportunities for scaling up. Registration is encouraged via email.
