The Congress intends to: review the socioeconomic, environmental and political impacts of biodiversity conservation; identify best strategies for the effective biodiversity conservation and management for livelihood improvement; address the causes and consequences of climate change on living resources on earth; identify research gaps and conceptualize collaborative research undertakings on biodiversity and climate change; evolve suitable strategies to combat global warming and climate change; bring the international scientific community together to initiate immediate net work action to conserve the flora and fauna in biodiversity hotspots; and link potential donors, research experts and educators for the conduct of future research and implementation of programs on biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
