Online Discussion on Youth Migration, Equity and Inequalities

This online discussion, hosted on the World We Want platform, considers the experiences of young migrants and their contributions to countries of origin and destination. The discussion is structured around questions addressing the social inclusion of young migrants; young people who are 'left behind' in countries of origin; human rights protection; youth participation in shaping migration policies; youth employment; and environmental change affecting youth migration. Participants are invited to suggest policies that will support positive change and realize the full potential of young migrants as part of the post-2015 development agenda. The discussion provides input to the High-Level Dialogue (HLD) on Migration and Development taking place in New York on 3-4 October 2013, and recommendations from the discussion will be presented at a side event at the HLD . The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOWMAD), a World Bank initiative, are convening the discussion.
