Participants to this closed meeting will: discuss key global challenges that could guide the global Strategic Directions of the Regional Seas for the next four years (2008-2012); define practical and innovative approaches to mainstream the Regional Seas into national development planning and budgeting; review progress made in the implementation of the current global Strategic Directions (2004-2007) and agree on the focus of the next global Strategic Directions (2008-2012); and adopt the Jeddah Declaration on Global Regional Seas Strategic Directions 2008-2012.
