This event is organized by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), and in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP). It will be held as a side event during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), and provide an opportunity to share the main findings of the Africa Report on Institutional and Strategic Frameworks for Sustainable Development, and discuss how institutions for sustainable development at all levels in Africa can be strengthened to achieve a balanced integration of the three pillars.
