Infrastructure for Climate Change: The Challenge of Constructing Infrastructure Systems for a New Environmental Reality

This one-day meeting, sponsored by the Latin American Development Bank (CAF) and organized by CAF and the Colombian Government, will bring together government representatives from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, representatives from various regional and international organizations, as well as experts from Asia, the US, Latin America and Europe to discuss the challenges posed by climate change and extreme weather events to Latin American water, energy, transport, housing and health infrastructure. The meeting also will launch a “Center of thought on Infrastructure for Climate Change” to act as a permanent high-level consultative center composed of national and international experts, devoted to the issue of making Latin American infrastructure climate-resilient.
