Green growth will be the focus of Globalisation Forum 2011, which is the fourth such Forum to be organized. Participants will include the Prime Ministers of Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Åland; researchers, representatives of the business community, the media and Nordic parliamentarians. The Forum is designed to develop ideas about how the Nordic countries can work together and face the challenges and opportunities posed by globalisation. The main items on the agenda this year are: how to turn green growth into a policy objective for Nordic co-operation, and how to enhance the Region’s green profile in an international context. A working group on green growth, established at the 2010 Forum, will present its report on: Nordic strengths; tangible areas within green growth where collaboration would generate Nordic synergies; priorities for how to turn green growth into a policy objective for Nordic co-operation; and how to enhance the Region’s green profile in an international context. The Globalisation Forum will be hosted by Finland, as President of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
