This symposium will address current and future research concerning waterborne pathogens and will have seven thematic sessions: new developments in detection strategies for waterborne pathogens; surface and recreational waters monitoring and management; cyanobacteria and other toxin-producing microorganisms; microorganisms and biofilms; quantitative microbial risk assessment; innovative technological solution for drinking water production; and regulation issues.
