The 26th Lowell Wakefield Fisheries Symposium follows up on the international consensus that was achieved in the 1990s on the need for ecosystem-based fisheries management (EBFM). It will bring together fisheries scientists from around the world to evaluate whether EBFM is being successfully implemented. The meeting is co-sponsored by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
