Organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), this workshop will introduce participants to the requirements of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety regarding the identification and documentation of living modified organisms (LMOs), and to the techniques and methodologies that may be used to ensure the implementation of these requirements. Countries from the Asian region that are parties to the Protocol are asked to submit nominations for participants by 14 October 2011.
