Asia and Pacific Regional Workshop on the Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

Organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on the Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety aims to raise awareness and understanding about the Supplementary Protocol and to identify the needs and requirements of parties to the Cartagena Protocol with a view to expediting the early entry into force and implementation of the Supplementary Protocol. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to consider issues related to the implementation of other decisions of the fifth meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol, in particular with regard to the second national report and the Protocol’s strategic plan. Countries from the Asia-Pacific Region that are parties to the Protocol are asked to submit their nominations for participants by 14 October 2011.
