17th Meeting of the Ocean Observations Panel for Climate

The 17th meeting of the Ocean Observations Panel for Climate (OOPC-17) of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) will convene to discuss: planning and reporting; implementation of the OOPC Work Plan, including consideration of the Tropical Pacific Observing System 2020 and Deep Ocean Observing Strategy; observing system requirements, design and evaluation; evaluating coastal observation requirements and implementation globally; and priorities and activities to progress in 2014-2016. The OOPC is a scientific advisory body of GOOS, which is sponsored by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (UNESCO-IOC), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and International Council for Science (ICSU).
