BirdLife International and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that seeks to enhance their cooperation to support the implementation of the recently adopted Strategic Plan and Aichi Targets.

20 December 2010: BirdLife International and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 20 December 2010, in Tokyo, Japan.

The agreement was formalized in the presence of BirdLife’s Honorary President, Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado of Japan. The agreement seeks to enhance cooperation between the CBD Secretariat and BirdLife, to support implementation of the CBD Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and the Aichi Targets, both adopted at the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) to the CBD, held from 18-29 October 2010, in Nagoya, Japan.
