The seventeenth meeting of States parties to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) took place in New York, US, on 14 June and from 18-22 June 2007.

At the meeting, parties elected the 21 members of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf and considered, inter alia: the future arrangements regarding the allocation of seats on that Commission; the future arrangements regarding the equitable geographical distribution of members of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS); the report of ITLOS to the meeting of States parties for 2006; information reported by the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority; activities of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf; and budgetary matters.
