This conference will seek to review and compare the state of water resources in the Mediterranean basin, including interrelationships between global change, drought and desertification. It will also seek to review the methods for assessing and monitoring aquatic ecosystems; formulate strategies and identify eco-technological approaches for the restoration and management of aquatic ecosystems; and identify areas of cooperation in aquatic sciences between Mediterranean countries.
