12 April 2013: The Programme on Research on Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA), a joint UN initiative, organized a workshop on Suggested Research Priorities for Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation to Climate Change. The event, co-sponsored by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID), was held in London, UK, from 11-12 April 2013.

The workshop intended to share research priorities on vulnerability, impacts and adaptation (VIA) identified in a research gap analysis with key stakeholders, in order to get their views on their priorities and further discuss next steps on VIA research. Workshop participants agreed that while the main purpose of the Research Priorities is to guide the work of donors and funding organizations, they should be widely communicated. The final list of research priorities is expected to be published in the coming months.
