This workshop is part of the “Reef Fisheries and Biodiversity” Pilot Project, implemented by the UN Environment Programme's Caribbean Environment Programme (CEP), as part of the UN Development Programme (UNDP)/UN Educational, Social and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)/Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Sub-commission for the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions (IOCARIBE) Global Environment Facility (GEF) Caribbean Large Marine Ecosystem (CLME) Project. This project seeks to promote the sustainable management of the shared living marine resources of the Caribbean and adjacent marine areas through an ecosystem-based management (EBM) approach and the principles of good governance. Organized by UNEP-CEP in collaboration with a local project partner CORALINA, the workshop aims to facilitate networking, the transference of better practices, and the dissemination of lessons learned from the pilot project's activities, in order to improve management and governance of the reef fisheries and biodiversity at three target sites in Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
