CBD Secretariat Circulates CBD COP 11 Agenda

CBD9 December 2011: In preparation for the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 11), the CBD Secretariat has circulated the provisional agenda and annotated agenda for the meeting, as approved by the COP Bureau.

The agenda includes, among other issues, items related to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits arising from their Utilization (ABS); implementation of the Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and the Aichi Biodiversity Targets; financial resources and the financial mechanism; cooperation, outreach and the UN Decade on Biodiversity; operations of the Convention; Article 8(j) and related provisions (traditional knowledge); review of the programme of work on island biodiversity (PoWIB); ecosystem restoration; marine and coastal biodiversity; biodiversity and climate change; biodiversity and development; and other substantive, administrative and budgetary matters.
