Youth Hold UN Event to Promote Engagement in Water Issues

The World Youth Parliament for Water, formed at the 6th World Water Forum in Marseilles in March 2012, held an event hosted by Belgium's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, featuring an address by Global Water Partnership (GWP) Chair Letitia A.

12 October 2012: The World Youth Parliament for Water and Belgian Youth Delegates to the UN held an event on the role of youth in solving water problems, on 12 October 2012, at UN Headquarters in New York, US.

The event, hosted by Belgium’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, featured an address by Global Water Partnership (GWP) Chair Letitia A. Obeng, who said the GWP would do more to incorporate a youth strategy in its next six-year strategy, beginning in 2014.

The World Youth Parliament on Water was established at the Sixth World Water Forum to promote the commitment of young people around the world on water issues.
