Youth Blast Calls for Advocacy and Training Tools for Youth

Youth Blast, also known as the Conference of Youth for Rio+20, was organized by the Major Group of Children and Youth in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The event focused on strategizing Children and Youth engagement, and on empowering young people through capacity building and skills sharing activities.

Rio+2012 June 2012: The Major Group of Children and Youth held Youth Blast, also known as the Conference of Youth for Rio+20, aimed at preparing for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) and enhancing youth participation in the Rio+20 process.

Youth Blast took place from 7-12 June 2012, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event focused on strategizing Children and Youth engagement, and on empowering young people through capacity building and skills sharing activities. Participants highlighted the importance of partnerships among young people and encouraged the creation of new spaces and platforms for networking.
