World Bank Welcomes Apps for Climate Submissions

The World Bank will hold a live chat with climate change experts to answer questions for participants in the Apps for Climate Competition and to promote the submission of new software developments to address climate change challenges.

The submission deadline for the competition is 16 March 2012.

3 February 2012: The World Bank will hold an online chat to help prospective participants at the ongoing Apps For Climate Competition submit new software developments to address climate change challenges.

The live chat, to be held on 14 February 2012, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm EST, will answer questions from participants in the competition and will include responses by Ana Bucher, Climate Change Specialist, Habiba Gitay, Senior Environmental Specialist, Tim Herzog, Apps for Climate Coordinator and Sup Lee, Senior Information Officer. The Apps for Climate competition calls for participants to develop apps to raise environmental awareness and measure progress in addressing problems faced by climate change.

These apps can include, but are not limited to, websites, mobile apps, and Facebook apps. The submission deadline is 16 March 2012.
