May 2008: As part of its Global Distance Learning Programme on Natural Disaster Risk Management, the World Bank Institute (WBI) will hold a series of online courses on natural disaster risk management, including on climate change and disaster risk management, from 26 May 2008 to 1 May 2009.

The online courses, aimed at policy makers, local government decision makers, city managers, administrators, planners, disaster management practitioners, NGO staff members, development workers and professionals, are designed to develop a broader understanding of natural disaster risk management and enhance the effectiveness of disaster risk management practices at the local and community levels.
