January 2009: The Ninth Consultative Meeting of High-level Policy on Satellite Matters, organized by World Meteorological Organization (WMO), will take place from 23-24 January 2009, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Among other issues, participants will be informed about WMO Space Programme activities within the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). The session will also review and discuss the proposed status for the new Regional Specialized Satellite Centers on Climate Monitoring. These centers over time will represent a significant contribution of Earth observations to climate change research. [Meeting Documents]
