WMO to Co-organize Summer School on the Arctic and Climate Change

February 2009: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will support the international summer school “Observing the Arctic: a window to climate change,” which is to take place from 17 June-4 July 2009, in Svalbard, Norway.

International Summer School
February 2009: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will support the international summer school “Observing the Arctic: a window to climate change,” which is to take place from 17 June-4 July 2009, in Svalbard, Norway. The school is organized by the Norwegian Institute for Air Research, the Norwegian Space Center and the University Centre in Svalbard.

This one-week course aims to train students in the fundamentals of Earth Observation, Earth System Models and Climate Change, and the latest developments, with a focus on the Arctic. The school is open to young researchers (PhD students and young post-doctoral scientists) who work on the Arctic and wish to expand and improve their knowledge and skills.
