18 November 2008: A World Meteorological Organization (WMO) partner, the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), has launched a Web portal, known as Product Navigator, which provides a central point for online access to all its weather and climate data and dissemination services, as well as data from some other agencies.

The main purpose of the EUMETSAT, an intergovernmental organization
founded in 1986, is to deliver weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products. This information is supplied to the National
Meteorological Services of the organization’s members and cooperating
States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide. The EUMETSAT
Product Navigator is a central online access to all EUMETSAT data and
dissemination services. It can be used to search and obtain details
about datasets, documents and software available from EUMETSAT. In
addition, an interactive map can be used to define a spatial area to
search for data and products available within a specific geographical
region.
Each product is presented with a brief description and a range
of important information such as coverage, how the product is
disseminated, and for whom it is available. Links are provided to where
the product can be accessed as well as to more information on the
product itself. [Product Navigator]
