23 September 2008: The meeting of the World Meteorological
Organization’s (WMO) Commission for Climatology Expert Team on Research Needs
for Intraseasonal, Seasonal and Interannual Prediction, including the
Application of these Predictions, took place from 23-26 September 2008, at US
National Weather Service headquarters in Maryland, US.

The event started on 23
September with the joint WMO/CPC Open Seminar on recent advances in seasonal to
interannual prediction. Participants discussed research and operational aspects
of seasonal prediction, including the role of prediction products in the WMO
Initiative to Support Climate Adaptation, as well as regional perspectives and
