WMP is organizing WCC-3, which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 31 August-4 September 2009.

The Framework will link science-based climate predictions and information with climate risk management and adaptation to climate variability and change throughout the world, in support of poverty alleviation efforts and sustainable development. WCC-3 is organized under the theme “Climate prediction and information for decision-making” and aims to strengthen actions being undertaken in response to climate-related risks and opportunities that are critical to the well-being of society and sustainable development.
The newsletter also features articles on: the need for a Global Framework for Climate Services; how a Global Framework for Climate Services would work; who will participate in the Global Framework for Climate Services; next steps for the Global Framework for Climate Services; the World Climate Research Programme Review; and the possible increase of Antarctic ice due to ozone.
