WIPONovember 2014: The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has circulated a table compiling disclosure requirements related to genetic resources and/or traditional knowledge, which are contained in national and regional legislative texts.

The requirement to disclose the origin or source of the material, as well as evidence of prior informed consent and benefit-sharing (disclosure requirement) in intellectual property rights (IPR) applications is a mechanism proposed to address the interface between intellectual property and access and benefit-sharing (ABS).

The extracts contained in the table are taken directly from legislative texts as contained in WIPO Lex. The table aims to complement existing databases containing information on national and regional laws related to traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions.
