October 2010: The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed a website containing the documentation related to the consultation on Health Vulnerability and Adaptation to Climate Change Assessments, which was held from 20-23 July 2010, in San José, Costa Rica.
The consultation aimed to evaluate, on the basis of pilot studies in all WHO regions, the draft guidelines for assessing vulnerability and adaptation to climate change in the health sector, that had been developed by WHO and the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO). Fifteen countries participated in the consultation, contributing to revise the guidance document. The updated assessment guidance is expected to be published later in 2010. [Consultation Website]
