Water For Business Guide Published by IUCN, WBCSD and SustainAbility

The newly published "Water for Business" guide, by IUCN, WBCSD and SustainAbility, provides tool for business assess the sustainability and environmental impacts of their water resources use.

20 August 2012: IUCN, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and SustainAbility released a guide to identify sustainable and environmentally friendly water solutions for businesses. The guide provides an overview of understanding water management, including five stages of corporate water management and meeting the needs of various stakeholders.

The “Water for Business” guide was published in response to several issues, including the role of business in water management, the requirement of business for assessment frameworks and recognition by business that water is a scarce resource. The guide also provides factsheets on a number of assessment methodologies and initiatives, inter alia: European Water Stewardship; UN CEO Water Mandate; UNEP FI Chief Liquidity Series; Water Impact Index; Water Risk Tool; Water Use Assessment within Life Cycle Assessment; WBCSD Global Water Tool; and World Resources Institute (WRI) Aqueduct.
