The second International Conference on Climate Change and Tourism, organized by the UN World Tourism Organization, the UN Environment Programme and the UN World Meteorological Organization, convened in Davos, Switzerland, from 3-5 October 2007.

The overall aim of the meeting was to determine future action on mitigation, adaptation, the global carbon market and financing responses to climate change for the post-2012 period. The Davos Declaration adopted at the meeting states, among other things, that “the tourism sector must rapidly respond to climate change, within the evolving UN framework, if it is to grow in a sustainable manner.” The Davos Declaration and the conclusions of the meeting will be presented at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change conference in Bali, Indonesia, in December 2007.
