UNPFII Trust Fund Calls for Proposals for the Second International Decade

The UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is inviting indigenous organizations or organizations working for indigenous peoples to submit proposals under the Trust Fund to promote the Second International Decade of the World's Indigenous People, until 1 September 2011.

Priority areas include education, health, the environment, and social and economic development.

July 2011: The UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) has issued a call for proposals from indigenous organizations or organizations working for indigenous peoples for grants under the Small Grants Programme of the Trust Fund on Indigenous Issues relating to the Second International Decade of the World’s Indigenous People.

The UNPFII Trust Fund was established in 2004 to promote, support and implement the objectives of the Decade (2005-2015). Under this scheme, priority thematic areas include: culture, education, health, human rights, the environment, and social and economic development. Proposed activities also must be linked to the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Successful proposals may be submitted until 1 September 2011, and can result in support of up to US$10,000. [UNPFII Trust Fund Call for Proposals]
