8 June 2009: The UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR) has opened a Discussion Board for the Second Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Discussion Board is live and ready for input, information, ideas and feedback in the lead up to the Second Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, which is scheduled to convene from 16-19 June 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The upcoming Second Session of the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction will feature 42 thematic special events, which will complement and support the high-level plenary sessions. The events will focus on different aspects of disaster risk reduction, including climate change adaptation as one of the key feature of the overall Global Platform discussions. [Discussion Website]
