The meeting was a follow-up action to the Third Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, which called on the UN/ISDR Asia Pacific Office, in consultation with the Asian Partnership on Disaster Reduction (IAP), to develop an Action Plan to the Kuala Lumpur Declaration.
During the meeting, a high level panel on reducing disaster risk in a changing climate convened. Participants decided to include the issue of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Action Plan, with the Republic of Korea listed as a potential lead country. IISDRS Sources.
