September 2008: The Expert Group Meeting on Advancing Industrial Energy Efficiency in the Post-2012 Framework will meet from 22-23 September 2008, in Washington, DC, US. The meeting is organized by the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The event is held to provide input for a scoping paper that will be presented at a side event to be held during the upcoming climate meetings in Poznan, Poland, in December 2008. The meeting aims to facilitate discussion on industrial energy efficiency and its role in climate change mitigation policies, including some key technical issues in the on-going climate change negotiations.
The event will: highlight effective industrial energy efficiency policies and measures; discuss sectoral approaches/sector agreements; and examine issues related to quantifying and reporting emissions reductions from industrial energy efficiency. [Background and agenda for the meeting]
