UNIDO, Israel Cooperate on Sustainability in Africa and LDCs

Under the agreement between UNIDO and Israel's National Agency for International Development Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV), efforts will focus on capacity building in areas such as: agriculture-related technologies and biotechnology; support to small and medium industrial enterprises; women's entrepreneurship development; rural entrepreneurship development; and environment and sustainability.

UNIDO14 May 2012: The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Government of Israel have entered into an agreement to increase cooperation on food security, water management, women’s empowerment, and industrial development in Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs).The agreement, which is between Israel’s development agency, the National Agency for International Development Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV), and UNIDO, will be implemented under the framework of UNIDO’s Agribusiness and Agro-Industries Development Initiative (3ADI).

It will focus on capacity building in areas such as: agriculture-related technologies and biotechnology; support to small and medium industrial enterprises; women’s entrepreneurship development; rural entrepreneurship development; and environment and sustainability. [UNIDO News Release]
