The UN Industrial Development Organization's (UNIDO) Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) efforts will be supported by a new contribution from Switzerland.
RECP consists of preventive environmental strategies in industrial processes, products and services to increase efficiency and reduce risks to humans and the environment.
28 November 2011: The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has announced a new contribution to its green industry initiative. Switzerland has approved a contribution of CHF 21,316,000 (about EUR 17 million) for activities in developing Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP).
RECP consists of preventive environmental strategies in industrial processes, products and services to increase efficiency and reduce risks to humans and the environment. UNIDO, in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), has created approximately 50 Cleaner Production centers worldwide. [UNIDO News Release]
