On the sidelines of the XIII World Forestry Congress, the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) Secretariat hosted a side event on 19 October 2009, on the Non-Legally Binding Instrument on All Types of Forests, entitled “the Forest Instrument: Translating Policy into Action.” The event provided an overview of UNFF and its process and highlighted the recently agreed forest instrument and the Global Objectives on Forests.
Participants were updated on the multi-year programme of work and the emerging cooperation within and outside the Collaborative Partnership on Forests on key issues including climate change, biodiversity, desertification, financing and means of implementation.
