UNFF Forest Film Festival Wins European Film Award

Jan McAlpine, Director of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) Secretariat, received the grand prize in Turin, Italy on 5 June 2011, for the UNFF's International Forest Film Festival.

June 2011: The International Forest Film Festival, launched by the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) Secretariat in January 2011, has been awarded the grand prize by CinemAmbiente, an environmental film festival in Europe.

The International Forest Film Festival was initiated in celebration of the International Year of Forests 2011, in collaboration with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. It has received 167 films from over 30 countries. Winning films from six categories are being presented around the world throughout the year.
